
Red Dot Artist? Who, me?
This past weekend I debuted my first two pieces of art in a public show as an adult. I was in a number of student shows growing up, but until now, I’ve never shown my work as an adult!

Dreaming Big
When do we stop allowing ourselves to dream big? I think it’s when we start having self awareness and an awareness of being perceived. That was when I stopped dreaming of things like being an animator for Disney, or a fashion designer, or any number of other creative careers I tried on as a child.

Gratitude for Georgia
Saturday was a huge moment for me, as many of you know. I had the opportunity to visit the High Museum of Art here in Atlanta the opening weekend of the new Georgia O’Keeffe exhibition, “My New Yorks,” curated in conjunction with the Art Institute of Chicago.

We are Stardust - and also Silly Geese
The image included with this blog post is my most recent digital art piece, which I titled “Goldblood”. I attempted to capture the wonder and mystery I feel when I think about the star stuff that we are made of. I think (and am too lazy to fact check) that it was Carl Sagan who coined that phrase, “star stuff”. It’s truly fascinating to study and reflect on our place in the grand web of the created universe. New Beginnings
So, now that I have a whole website and stuff, I am thinking about resurrecting my blogging practice. It’s been such a whirlwind few weeks. I’ve been diving into work with renewed energy, I’ve been taking real strides to make this little art business idea a reality, I’ve been DATING - don’t even get me started! - and most importantly I’ve been healing.
